Did you know that there are new Regulations of the Federal Consumer Protection Law?

December 20, 2019 is the effective day of the new Regulations on Consumer Protection in Mexico. Actually, not all the articles incorporated into the Regulations are new, they are amendments to the previous Regulations, but Congress published all the provisions as a new regulation.

Among other topics, we highlight the following incorporations:

• PROFECO will have the possibility to issue alerts on products or services that could put in danger the life, security or health of consumers, this is recalls.
• Provides the manner to proof the truthfulness of the information, on misleading information cases.
• On comparative advertising matters, it is expressly allowed to use PROFECO´s studies as long as they are presented in full to the consumer.
• Creation of the Registry of Policies for delays attributable to air transport companies.
