Non-Fungible Tokens (NFT´s), are valuable units contained in the blockchain that can be exchanged to acquire goods or services, have copyright implications in terms of their creation and ownership.

Copyright is the inalienable and imprescriptible recognition that every author has as exclusive prerogatives and privileges of a personal and patrimonial nature. We consider the NFT´s as original works created in a digital format, therefore, it implies that their creators have the same prerogatives as the authors, artists, interpreters, and performers of an analogous work, since this recognition is independent of the support, merit, or destination of the work.

In this sense, in my opinion, the rules of the analog world are perfectly applicable to the digital world and it is enough to refer to international treaties and in this case, to the Mexican copyright legislation to know the limitations, rights, and obligations that the authors maintain for the creation of their works, that is, the recognition of the moral right and the possibility of exploiting and commercializing their work, in general, the economic right.
