Do you know that trademarks have a national territorial limitation? Do you know that trademarks expire?
Trademark protection in Mexico is due before the Mexican Industrial Property Office (IMPI) and grants to the owner the exclusive right to use it:
- in the country (Mexico),
- for a period of 10 years,
- in relation to determined products or services.
Their exclusivity is what gives them value and may become the most valuable assets for a company.
In order to take full advantage of this right, a thorough analysis must be done prior to the filing of the application to confirm the availability of the trademark and to correctly determine the products and services.
