Roberto Anaya Moreno joins RRS to lead environmental practice

This is why we are proud to announce that Roberto Anaya has joined our firm to lead the environmental practice area.
Roberto Anaya obtained his law degree from Ciudad Juarez Autonomous University in 1991. He holds postgraduate diplomas from the University of California at Davis and Berkeley, as well as a Master’s Degree in Law (LL.M.) from the University of Texas Law School in Austin.
He has more than 30 years of experience. He was a partner at Baker & McKenzie for eleven years in their Ciudad Juárez’ and Mexico City’s offices, in the areas of environmental law, corporate law and immigration law. He also presided the National Association of Business Lawyers (ANADE), Chihuahua Section, from 1998 to 2000, and was a member of said association’s national council. He has also been member of the Texas-Mexico Bar Association and the Alumni Associations from both the University of Texas at Austin and the University of California at Davis.
He taught for several years Private Law at the Technological Institute of Higher Studies of Monterrey (ITESM), Juarez Campus. He worked as General Director of Non-Conformities of SECODAM (now the Ministry of Public Service) from May 2001 to April 2003. He was subsequently appointed, by President Vicente Fox, Undersecretary of Citizen Attention and Regulations of the Ministry of Public Service, where he worked until the last day of the administration. On January 1st, 2007, he was appointed Deputy Director-General of Water Management at the National Water Commission, where he remained in service until December 15th, 2012.
He subsequently founded an Environmental Advisory Firm in Mexico City: GAL CONSULTORES ASOCIADOS, SC, and on August 16th, 2014, he was appointed Deputy Director-General of Normalization at the General Directorate of Norms from the Ministry of Economy, where he worked until 31th July 2015. As of September 1st, 2015, he served as General Director of the National Chamber of the Tequila Industry in Guadalajara, where he remained until July 31th, 2017. On October 1st, 2017, he opened a branch of GAL CONSULTORES ASOCIADOS, SC in Guadalajara, Jalisco. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Environmental Law at University of Alicante, Spain.
